Blessed is that man who makes the Lord his trust, and does not respect the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies. Psalm 40:4
Many times over my life, I have thought about how different my life would be if I didn’t have Jesus. I have been carried through hard times and strengthened with His grace and peace. When I don’t know what to do, He gives me wisdom. When I cast my care on Him, He gives me peace. He has taken me out of the horrible pit and miry clay and placed me on the sure foundation of who He is.
Being a Christian doesn’t prevent the storms from blowing, but it certainly has given me a firm foundation to not be shaken during the storm. I have experienced His power in my life, time and time again, which builds my trust in Him.
The verse says, “blessed is the man (which means human, male or female) who makes the Lord his trust.” The word blessed means to be empowered. When we put our trust in Him, He equips us with the power to deal with whatever we have to face.
Thank you, Lord, for saving me - taking me from the horrible pit and giving me a sure foundation in you. I trust you with everything I am today. Amen
