God's Plan

Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. Colossians 3:2

There is a saying that went around years ago that went, "He's so heavenly minded, he's no earthly good!" That is a false statement. It should be the desire of every Christian to be so full of God that the God-knowledge we possess affects everyone and everything we come in contact with.

God's plan for Adam was for him to make the whole earth a garden, not just a small portion of it. God has a dream and a plan for each of us that is so big, the only way to accomplish it is to stay connected to Him. It is so easy to get our focus on what's going on in the natural. We can get so worked up about things here, that we lose sight of our God-mission.

Our best example, of course, is Jesus. He was constantly checking in with His Father to see how He wanted it done, and do it that way. This made the world hate Him, but also made Him so effective in His mission we still marvel at it. To affect the world the way God wants requires us to always be connected to Him.
