God is in Control

Yes, again and again they tempted God, and limited the Holy One of Israel. Psalm 78:41

There is a very popular saying in the church world. You hear it preached, you hear it in song, and it is a great thought. Unfortunately, there is no basis for it in scripture. The saying is "God is in control!" We like to think that God is controlling everything and that everything goes the way He wants. Nothing could be further from the truth.

Do you realize that when the children of Israel refused to go into the Promised Land, they kept God out as well? Now, of course His presence was there, but He didn't have the fulfillment He desired because the people didn't do their part.

Let's bring this closer to home. Do you do everything God wants you to do? Of course not, and neither do I. God gave the dominion of this world to man and He's never taken it back. To get His will accomplished in the earth requires Him to work through people to get it done!
