Selfish Ambition and Conceit

Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. Philippians 2:3

In case you haven't noticed, the world is very selfish. One of Satan's weapons is selfishness. If he can get us thinking about ourselves all the time, we start to elevate ourselves and lower those around us.

The other side of this is to elevate those around us by putting ourselves down. Both of these are wrong. There is a confidence that comes by knowing who we are in Christ, and this confidence allows us to build up those around us.

Become a kingdom builder, not a self promoter.
