Under God's Protection

“If you'll hold on to me for dear life", says God, "I'll get you out of any trouble. I'll give you the best of care if you'll only get to know Me and trust Me” Psalm 91:14 MSG

The other day I was talking to some friends from church and they told me about their days. They all ran off of the road due to snow. In all cases, these good people started their days without putting themselves under God's protection and all of them suffered consequences. For myself, the only times I've had accidents is when I got lazy and didn't bother to put myself under God's protection for the day. Just because you were protected yesterday doesn't mean you're automatically covered for today. You have to work at staying in God's protection. The Bible calls us sheep, and you know what sheep do, they wander off!

I read about a family in Florida that was facing a hurricane. They immediately went to work praying over every inch of their property. They laid hands on everything they could, calling protection over everything they owned. That hurricane hit their neighborhood with full force and every house on the street suffered major damage- except theirs. They didn't even lose one shingle off their roof!

Several years ago, a church in California held a midweek service. Everyone who attended prayed Psalm 91 and took communion, believing God for protection. They didn't know why they were led to do this, but they were obedient. Later that night a devastating earthquake hit that area. Every structure in that area suffered major damage except those who participated in that meeting. None of their houses or businesses were touched! I don't know about you, but I plan to stay under the shelter of the Most High.
