Provision of Healing

But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed. Isaiah 53:5

Our provision from God starts right here in this verse. Jesus was wounded, bruised, chastised, and whipped to the brink of death so that we would be free from our transgressions, iniquities, have peace, and be healed! Talk about the total package – there was nothing forgotten at the cross.

Notice the end of that verse reads, by His stripes we ARE healed. It says in 1 Peter 2:24, “who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness – by whose stripes you WERE healed. If you WERE healed when Jesus took the stripes for you, you ARE healed now.

These verses might seem like a lie with so much sickness around us. But the scriptures don’t lie. Just because we experience sickness doesn’t mean the Bible isn’t true. Jesus IS the truth and what He bought for us at the cross is the truth no matter our experiences. You see, the truth trumps facts. The fact is that people reject Jesus all the time and choose to die in their sin despite the truth of salvation. The fact is that sickness is a part of our human existence, but that doesn’t dismiss the truth that by Jesus’ stripes, we ARE healed.

There is usually some confusion and debate surrounding this subject – especially when we have a loved one pass away because of sickness. But just because healing wasn’t realized here on earth doesn’t mean that it never came. Many people step into their healing when they step into heaven. Likewise, many people realize forgiveness when they meet Jesus face to face.

Whether or not people receive their healing here or in heaven is not for us to judge. However, I have a problem when people blame God for their sickness. They will say that God gave them that burden to bear. Well, that goes against scripture. John 10:10 says, “The thief (the devil) comes to steal, kill, and destroy. I (Jesus) have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” Last time I checked, sickness, disease, and pain are under the devil’s territory of stealing, killing, and destroying.

Jesus provided your healing just like He did for everyone He touched while on earth. Believe that He came for your healing. Receive it by faith by thanking Him.

Dear Lord, thank you for Your provision of healing in my body. I receive it today. Amen.
