Heaven On Earth

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ. Ephesians 1:3

Do you believe that you have been blessed with every spiritual blessing? Maybe you don’t even know what spiritual blessings are. Well, this verse tells us that they are the blessings of heaven. I like to think about what heaven will be like. From what people have said that have seen a glimpse of it, it is beyond anything we could ever imagine.

So, if we can’t imagine how good it is, how can we know about spiritual blessings? First, we can take a look at the blessings that Adam and Eve had in the garden of Eden. God provided for them everything they would ever need or want. They never had to worry about their next meal. In fact, they didn’t have any fear till after sin entered the picture.

Although we live in this fallen world, Jesus paid the price to get us back in right relationship with God and give us access to the blessing of God once again through Him. His will is for us to receive the His blessings now. How do I know His will? Jesus taught us His will as He taught us how to pray. Luke 11:2 says, “Our Father, in heaven, Hallowed be Your name, Your kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.”

Notice He prays that God’s will be done here on earth AS it is in heaven. Again, let’s think about what heaven is like. Is there any pain or sickness? Is there any lack? Is there any sadness or grief? Is there any fear of any kind? The answer to all of those questions is a resounding NO!

Through Jesus, we live in this world, but we are not of this world. We carry dual citizenship of earth and heaven. Therefore, we don’t have to wait till heaven to experience the benefits of what Jesus did for us. We can experience every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places IN Christ – now!

Thank you, Jesus, for going to the cross to bring me back into a relationship with God. Help me learn about and partake in every spiritual blessing that belongs to me. Amen.
