Pray for One Another
Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much. James 5:16
One of the most important things we can do for one another is pray. It is so comforting to know when people are praying for me. Not only that but the faith-filled prayers – the effective, fervent prayers of a fellow believer are felt.
Have you ever told someone you will pray for them but have forgotten to do so? Sometimes we flippantly tell someone we will pray for them as a salutation – a goodbye. Sort of like asking someone how they are doing as a greeting. We usually don’t expect someone to tell us how they are really doing.
However, prayer is not something we should be casual about. If you tell someone you will pray for them, say a quick prayer right then so you won’t forget. Depending on the situation, I will pray for them right then; that way, they know I am sincere about praying.
The type of prayer you pray is also important. Praying out of fear or worry doesn’t accomplish anything in the spiritual realm. However, a faith-filled prayer is very effective. So, how can you pray an effective faith-filled prayer? Pray the Word of God. Use what the scripture says and believe it!
Next time someone you know asks for prayer, pray right then and there for them. It will bless them and bless you too. Remember that the effective, fervent prayer of a believer avails much or has a great impact!
Dear Lord, help me be quick to pray for those who need it with fervent, faith-filled prayers. Amen.
