Love is The Driving Force

"For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this: " You shall love your neighbor as yourself." Galatians 5:14

If everyone would do this verse and be consistent with it, there would be no need for any other law. "All the law" in this verse, of course, refers to the Ten Commandments. I think I would be safe in saying we would like fewer laws, not more laws. God sees it that way too.

Jesus came to ease our burdens, not add to them. Love is the driving force behind everything God has ever done. Jesus came to this world from heaven because of God's overwhelming love for us. One point of interest in this verse is that God wants us to love other people with a love equal to the love we have for ourselves, not at the expense of ourselves.
