Its a Lie
"But let your 'Yes' be 'Yes', and your 'No', 'No'. For whatever is more than these is from the evil one." Matthew 5:37
It's okay to say 'yes', and it's okay to say 'No'. We have gotten away from this truth that Jesus taught and exchanged it for options. After all, we don't want to be locked in, right? Why are we so afraid to say yes or no?
So many people, including Christians, have opted to use the phrase 'I'll try' when asked if they are going to do something. It has been my experience that when someone says I'll try, what they are really saying is 'No'. What I am thinking is 'Yes'. I'm being led to believe one thing while the other person is really saying another.
What it is, is a lie. It is deceptive in its nature. Jesus said that anything besides yes or no is from the evil one. It is from satan. We don't always have to say yes. If you don't want to do something, just say no. You don't owe anyone an explanation of your 'No'.
