The Words We Speak
"For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, 'Be removed and be cast into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says." Mark 11:23
Jesus was talking with His disciples when He said these words. A couple of days earlier, Jesus came to a fig tree and was looking for figs to eat. Not finding any, He spoke directly to the tree commanding it never to bear fruit again. Jesus went by that tree morning and night for the next couple of days, and there were no visible changes at all. Everyone was watching this tree when they walked by. Jesus never spoke to that tree again.
The words He spoke one time were at work here, and they never stopped working. The words we speak in faith never stop working, so why do we keep speaking?
