Expecting our Words to Continue

"For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, 'Be removed and be cast into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says." Mark 11:23

In verse 14 of this chapter, Jesus spoke to the tree and said, 'Let no one eat fruit from you ever again." Notice what it didn't say! Jesus never told the tree to die. That is why, when Jesus walked by the tree, He wasn't surprised to see the tree still living.

Now, don't get me wrong here, but creation speaks. That tree was weighing its options. It couldn't produce fruit ever again, but that is precisely what it does. It saw no option but to die, so that is what it did.

Notice also that Jesus never gave it another thought. He never spoke to the tree again. You and I would keep speaking, and speaking, and speaking, and speaking. There comes a point when our faith is no longer faith because we are wanting to see the results. Faith is moving on, expecting our words to continue working whether we see anything or not.
