Purpose-Driven Passion

"May He grant you according to your heart's desire, and fulfill all your purpose." Psalm 20:4

Have you ever wondered what your purpose in life is? I know I have. Sometimes in the humdrum of going through each day, doing what needs to be done, our purpose and desires can get lost somewhere along the way. We can find ourselves just going through the motions because we've lost our way.

I know I've told this before, but it bears repeating. When I was young, we would travel by train to visit my grandma. On one particular trip, there was a porter working our car, tending to people's needs. One of his jobs was to give out pillows to everyone. I watched as he would put a new pillowcase on a pillow before handing it out. He would make conversation with each passenger as he went, and he had the most infectious smile. He had a purpose in life and a desire to serve people. On a scale of 1-10, his job would have probably been a 3. However, he made that job a 10. Even at a young age, I could see his desire to serve people, and boy, did he excel at it! To this day, every time I put a pillowcase on a pillow, I see him. That man still has an effect on me 60 years later.

Whatever you choose to do, do it with a purpose-driven passion. You will have a greater impact on people than you can ever imagine.
