A Foot in Both Worlds
I was listening to this young man the other day. He was talking about how good of a Christian he was and how he loved God. He went so far as to bring up that he also played on the worship team. However, his beliefs and worldview didn't line up with the Bible at all.
The more he talked, the less sense he made. I didn't know if he was trying to convince himself that he was right with God or convince other people that he was right with God. At any rate, he didn't do a good job of either one.
You can't claim to know God and hold views that are not in line with Him. It just doesn't work that way. You can't have one foot in the church and one foot in the world. It won't work no matter how hard you try.
In Revelation chapter 3, Jesus is giving instructions concerning the churches. He saw that the church at Laodicea was a church full of people with one foot in the world. They made Him sick! According to Jesus, having one foot in the world and one in the church is far worse than having both feet in the world.
