A Pure Heart

I was wondering if we are exhorted to love one another with a pure heart, is it possible to love with an impure heart? And just what is a pure heart?

Sad to say, most people love conditionally. We will love another person 'unconditionally' as long as they meet our conditions, whatever they are. If we have certain conditions, have we really purified our minds?

Years ago, a family left our church and blamed me as the reason. I was teaching Sunday school for the teenagers of our church. This family said I didn't teach out of the Bible enough. The Bible was the only source I used, but that's beside the point. I have no need to justify myself. This family was free to worship wherever they wanted, but I have noticed this pattern over and over in the years since.

Someone else will always be the reason for another person's actions. We will all stand before God one day and have the opportunity to explain our actions. Any excuse outside of pure love probably will not get very far.
