Evil or Righteous?
Here is a verse guaranteed to mess with you some. We know the word is truth, and this verse, or variations of it, is found in five places, establishing this truth. I can't begin to number the sermons I have heard along these lines.
There is, however, another truth, which is rightly dividing the word. (2 Timothy 2:15).
When Jesus died on the cross, He took on the sins of all mankind. When He rose from hell, Jesus imparted His righteousness to man. The great news here is we are now righteous before God because of Jesus.
This verse describes an unsaved person, not someone who has accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior.
