Life Without Being Sidetracked

If you could sum up your entire life in 20 words or less, how would you describe yourself? I love these words Paul spoke of himself. He condensed his life into 16 words. How many people can actually say they have kept their mission to the end?

I recently read about a man who has worked for the same company for 80 years. Yes, I said 80 years! Most companies don't last 80 years. As a young man, age 25, I was working in a sawmill in Oregon. One day, I got to thinking about the years I had in front of me working there. I started to evaluate my entire life, including the 45 working years I had in front of me. I was gone from that job within two weeks. To say I didn't have a solid focus would be an understatement.

Every one of us has had changes in our lives, and so did Paul. The thing that didn't change for him was his desire to please God, and that has also become my focus. My goal is to get to the end of my life without getting sidetracked and to enter heaven with Jesus as my focus. I want to finish the race set before me!
