Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths. Proverbs 3:5-6
I think this verse has to rate in my top five in the Bible because it such a foundational truth. How many times do we seek God on a situation, yet turn and do what we think is best? I know I have too many times to count. Iām so thankful that God is gracious to us and will help us get right back on the path He has for us.
The part of the verse that really speaks to me is not about trust, but about acknowledging Him in EVERYTHING I do. I never liked ranking my priorities like, 1. God 2. Husband 3. Kids and so on. That system of ranking of priorities will leave us frustrated and feeling condemned. There are times in our lives that our kids require more attention or that work requires more time to be put in. That is just the ebb and flow of life. However, this verse suggests that in everything we do, acknowledge God ā trust Him to give you wisdom in all of your relationships and responsibilities. When you do, the direction and paths for your life and in your life will become plain to see.
Lord, I acknowledge you in all my ways and thank you for directing me each day.
