Power of Prayer
.....Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. John 14:27
Don't be troubled by everything going on around you.
Those are easy words to say but hard to put into practice. It's so easy to be troubled just listening to the news. My solution has been to turn off the news! How do you know what's going on? Admittedly, some things happen that I don't know about, like hurricanes for instance. But for the most part, I read the Bible to see what kind of day I'm going to have.
The word says to pray for those in authority, so that's a good place to start. It's a lot easier to pray for someone when you don't hear what they say. The promise from God concerning praying for them is that I get to live a peaceful, quiet life. This doesn't mean that I stick my head in the sand and pretend nothing is going on. I pray for people and am relentlessly combative against the demonic forces behind their words and actions.
Daniel made a habit of praying 3 times a day and changed a nation. Joseph remained loyal to God regardless of the circumstances around him, and God gave him a nation. Both of these men faced heavy situations against them, but nothing moved them. The more we stay connected to God, the less the world has a hold on us. The more we pray, the greater our victories over the enemy and the more peace we experience.
