Understanding of Connection
He who receives a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet's reward. And he who receives a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man's reward. Matthew 10:41
To really gain some understanding of connection, we need to go to 1 Samuel 30:24. Here, David's men had done a forced March to catch up to the people that stole their stuff and took their families captive. Some of the men were so exhausted they couldn't continue so David left them and their supplies. God brought about a great victory and David's men collected all their possessions, families, and everything the enemy possessed. The men who went to the battle though weren't willing to share the spoils of war with those who stayed at camp. David set a law in motion that day that those who stayed behind would receive the same as those who fought.
This is the only instance I know of where God took a man's instruction and made it a spiritual law. It's the power of partnership. When you partner with a ministry, everything that ministry does is as if you were doing it. You receive the same glory as the person who started that ministry. God credits your heaven account with everything that ministry does for the kingdom. Being involved in a church works the same way. There are many different ministries in a church and you can't be involved in all of them. But because you have partnered with that church, every ministry of that church is credited to your account. Kind of mind-bending, isn't it?
