God's Wisdom

But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy. James 3:17

The words of this verse seem a lot different from what we would call conventional wisdom. However, having used this verse when seeking God's insight, I can tell you it works.

Years ago, I was presented an "opportunity" to get in on a sure deal that would make lots of money. I knew something was not quite right but I just couldn't put my finger on it. I sat down with my Bible opened to this verse and the business proposal. I went from one to the other, studying the verse and the document.

After I had done this many times, suddenly my eyes were opened and everything hidden in that paperwork was laid open to me. I saw everything it was hiding. God's wisdom kept me out of it. I Wish I could say I've done this regularly but I haven't. What I can tell you is the Word works as much as we will put it to work.
