Not Just for People

Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be good in my house. And try me now in this, says the Lord of hosts, 'If I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out such blessing that there will not be room enough to receive it.' Malachi 3:10

Tithing isn't just for people but also for entities and organizations. A business that tithes is setting itself up for success. Likewise, a successful church is one that has its giving in order. When you read through Paul's letters to the churches, the Philippian church was the only one that needed no correction. It was also a church whose heart was in giving.

I am blessed to be a member of such a church. I don't recall one time when a special offering was taken because of a need the church had. There have been special offerings taken to meet the needs of people. We recently took all the offerings for one Sunday and sent it to a church in Kentucky to help them after a tornado damaged their building. What a blessing to be a part of that!
