God Honoring His Word

“And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, so that he will not destroy the fruit of your ground. Nor shall the vine fail to bear fruit for you in the field," says the Lord of hosts. Malachi 3:11a

God not only pours out blessing on us when we tithe, but he also protects what we have planted! We may not all be farmers, but believe me, we all plant. More about that later!

A farmer in North Dakota did something very unusual. He borrowed money to pay his tithe on his expected crop. His crop was coming in good, and it was going to be an excellent harvest. A huge thunderstorm developed and was coming toward his fields, bringing huge hail, something we in the Dakotas are all too familiar with. This man grabbed his tithe receipt and ran out into his field, held up the receipt, and declared that the storm would not touch his crop. The most amazing thing happened. That storm raced toward him and stopped where his property started. The storm even made angels. Everything outside his property was knocked flat and ruined. Everything on his property was perfectly intact and untouched. The local newspaper hired a helicopter to take pictures. You might say this is wild; I say this is God honoring His word!
