Supernatural Strength
But those who wait on the Lord Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint. Isaiah 40:31
If you have been following the daily devotions this month, you will have noticed that the provision of God is vast. His provision covers many things, but it is also supernatural, meaning it is from Heaven. The provision in this verse is no different. There is supernatural strength when we wait on the Lord.
Supernatural doesn’t mean that you will have superhuman strength like Superman or the Hulk. But supernatural does mean that it is above your natural power. There are times when the situations we face wear us down. We become weary from the struggle day in and day out.
Maybe you face a physical challenge or are a caregiver for someone going through sickness. Perhaps you are dealing with a stressful situation at work or in your family. We face many difficulties in our human experience, but this promise covers it all. When we spend time with God, He renews our strength. Notice it says that our strength isn’t just repaired to the state it was, but it is renewed. The Word renewed means “to make like new: restore to freshness, vigor, or perfection.”
The verse goes on to say that not only is your strength renewed, but you will be able to continue doing what you need to do without getting weary. In other words, your strength and stamina will increase, not decrease. It will be like riding on the wings of Eagles – drifting on the currents of what life throws at you.
Remember to tap into the supernatural strength provided to you by Jesus by spending time in the Word and in prayer. When you do, you will find that you will run and not be weary, walk, and not faint.
Dear Lord, teach me to look to you when I feel weak and receive your supernatural strength. Amen.
