Supernatural Peace
Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. John 14:27
There are not many things as wonderful and beneficial as having the peace of Jesus in your life. Jesus, the Prince of Peace didn’t just tell us how to have peace but gave us His supernatural peace. The Bible describes it as the peace that passes understanding (Phil. 4:7). Supernatural peace surpasses the natural realm. It’s having peace when your situation is complicated and worrisome. Webster’s dictionary defines it as” freedom from disquieting or oppressive thoughts or emotions.”
I remember when I got the call that my dad was diagnosed with lung and pancreatic cancer after having prostate cancer surgery. At that moment, the circumstance called for me to be very upset and worried. However, I didn’t let myself go there. When fear and worry tried to come up in my emotions, I stopped them from entering my soul.
How was I able to do that? Well, it began by having a steady diet of God’s Word. Fear is defeated when we speak God’s Word over our situation. Ephesians 6 says to take up the Sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God.
Take advantage of the peace that Jesus provided for you by speaking over your situation. That is why I have created the Renew e-magazine. Each month’s issue is filled with scriptures and confessions (how to speak the Word) on a specific subject. You can check out those resources here or get March’s Renew magazine on the provision of God down below.
No matter what you’re going through, take advantage of the gift of peace that Jesus has provided for you today.
Dear Lord, thank you for Your peace in my life today that transcends worry and fear. Amen.
