Peace in the World

These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world. John 16:33

If you think about the tribulation in the world, you can start feeling depressed and defeated pretty quickly. It seems like morality is on a decline. However, it doesn’t matter what is going on in the world when we are in Christ. We can have peace In Him regardless of our circumstances. Through Christ, we can be strong and courageous.

One of my favorite verses is John 10:10. Jesus says, “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life and that they may have it more abundantly.” The devil has made his home in the world, so there is so much tribulation. But we don’t have to worry about that because Jesus has come to provide a safe place for us. A place of life and abundance, full of peace that passes understanding.

We have to remember that just because we are Christians (having asked Jesus into our hearts) doesn’t mean that we are automatically found in Christ. We can still act and sound like the world and have tribulations like the world. To be in Christ, we must be found in love.

We must do as 1 Corinthians 13 says if we want peace. We are to be kind, not envious, prideful, rude, selfish, not provoked, think well of others, rejoice in the truth, believe all things, hope all things, and endure all things. When we do that, we will be found in Christ, where peace is.

Therefore, let’s strive to stay in love to be found in Him alone. Amen?

Dear Lord, thank you for overcoming the world and giving us your peace. In the world, there may be tribulation, but in You, I have life and peace. Amen.
