Gain Wisdom

The father of the righteous will greatly rejoice, and he who begets a wise child will delight in him. Let your father and your mother be glad, and let her who bore you rejoice. Proverbs 23:24-25

I don’t know if there is anything that makes a parent more proud of their child than when they show wisdom. Of course, it feels great to witness your child succeed in sports or other activities they endeavor to do. But watching them display godly wisdom is priceless.

Watching my children pray for wisdom and then obeying what they feel the Holy Spirit is speaking to their heart trumps any accolade they have received. The Bible says that wisdom is the principle thing. It is worth far more than gold or rubies. Having God’s wisdom is the difference between success and failure in every situation they face.

If you want success for your children, teach them to seek God first. Matthew 6:33 says, “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.” The kingdom of God operates differently than this earthy realm we live in. Therefore, God’s wisdom might not seem correct. However, if we trust God and obey His instructions, success will come every time.

Dear Lord, thank You for your wisdom. I know and believe that Your ways are the best ways for me and my children’s lives. Amen.
