Do Something

For even when we were with you, we commanded you this: if anyone will not work, neither shall he eat. 2 Thessalonians 3:10

It has been God's design from the very beginning that man be fruitful, working with his hands, providing for himself, and more besides. All through the Bible, there is account after account where God blessed the work man did. You won't find anywhere where God blesses idleness and laziness.

Man was designed to do things, not sit and watch the world go by. I read a story years ago about a man who found himself unemployed and it really bothered him. He started receiving money from the government and used that money to buy everything he needed to set up a food stand. Instead of rewarding his initiative, the governing body shut him down and sued him because he was supposed to do nothing, not something. You know what? God wants each of us to do something, not nothing.
