Light to the World

But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come. 2 Timothy 3:1

Well, this verse is certainly loaded with good stuff! I think that most everyone would agree that we are in the last days. It seems like every day something new is planned to disrupt our lives. If you will take the time to look up this verse and read down to verse seven, you will see that the perilous times Paul was talking about are in the church, not in the world.

I saw a cartoon the other day that pictured a church. On the outside, Jesus was trying to get in. On the inside, people were barricading the door to keep Him out. After all, we certainly don't need Jesus interrupting our nice little church service, do we? It is time for the church to wake up and quit playing. The sad thing to me is seeing people who are a part of the body but who are not growing spiritually. We have a huge task ahead of us being the light to a dark world. We need to be the answer, not part of the problem.
