Don't Worry

Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble. Matthew 6:34

How much time do you spend worrying about something that isn't even here yet? In this passage, Jesus is specifically addressing those people who are constantly concerned about future events, telling them not to worry about it.

There is a huge difference between worrying about something and planning for something. Let's say you have a test coming up next Friday. If you worry about it, you fret about it, you talk about it, and you get all worked up about it. If you plan for it, you study and prepare yourself to be ready for it. I have met a few people who have made a profession out of worry. It's not much of a life if you ask me. If you find yourself worrying about some future event, go to Jesus about it. Get a plan developed to meet it head-on, and move on with your life.

When I was going through the cancer thing, I never worried about it. I met each challenge head-on. I had already spent time in prayer and the word and cast the care (worry) onto Jesus before it happened. I had enough on my plate without worrying about everything. The interesting thing is that the thought of possibly dying never even crossed my mind. Don't give into worry, it will just mess up your perfectly fine day.
