Use His Knowledge

The tongue of the wise uses knowledge rightly, but the mouth of fools pours forth foolishness. Proverbs 15:2

If there is a right way to use knowledge, then there is also a wrong way. There is an old saying that says "knowledge is power.” I see this almost every day. Wise people use knowledge to build up those around them. Foolish people use knowledge to keep others beneath them.

One time I was presented with the opportunity to invest in a business. Something about this business just didn't seem right, but I couldn't put my finger on it. I finally set the papers on the dining room table along with my Bible. I opened the Bible to James 3:17 which defines wisdom. I would read the paper, then read the verse. I kept repeating this for quite a while when a suddenly happened. My eyes were opened and I saw clearly the flaws in the paper. Though there were products involved, the real emphasis was to take money from you and give it to me. This was so well hidden I wouldn't have ever seen it outside of the Word.

There is a lot of rhetoric floating in the air these days. We are constantly told what we need to do. If you want some clear definition, run it through the filter of God's Word. It will never take you in the wrong direction.
