Declare Righteousness

He who speaks truth declares righteousness, but a false witness, deceit. Proverbs 12:17

Just because you don't tell a lie doesn't mean you are telling the truth. Not everyone who doesn't lie is walking in righteousness. There is only one truth and One truth giver. It is His word that makes us righteous. When we speak God's word over a situation, we are declaring truth. On the other hand, if we speak what we see or what we feel, or what we hear, we are false witnesses.

I must admit I have been a false witness more times than I can count, simply by declaring facts in the place of truth. How many changes has man gone through since the beginning of time? How many changes has God's word gone through since the beginning of time? If facts change so often, and truth has never changed, which one is the most accurate? If you speak truth you are speaking right in spite of what the facts are. Declaring God's word over your particular circumstances will change those circumstances to line up with God's word.
