Power In the Word

Who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the power of His word… Hebrews 1:3a

If you go back to Genesis you see that God created everything with words. It was God, the Word, and the Holy Spirit. That was the Godhead. Everything changed though. John 1:1 says that the Word became flesh and dwelt among us. That changed The Word for all of eternity.

There is now a man in the Godhead and there always will be. He is Jesus, but also, He's the word. There is power in the Word and Word in the power. You can't separate the two. The Word produces power, AND, there is power in each word spoken.

I know a man who needed healing in his body. He turned to Isaiah 53 and started reading where it says "surely He has borne our griefs". He started dwelling on the word surely and repeated it over and over, getting a picture inside of him. There is so much power in the word "surely,” he got healed meditating on it.

There is such power in every word Jesus has spoken that we collectively haven't begun to tap into. There was enough power in the word "come" that Peter was able to walk on water. There was enough power in come that everyone in the boat could have walked on the water. They could have had a football game!
