Abiding in Truth

Yet for us there is one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we for Him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, through whom through whom are all things, and through whom we live. 1 Corinthians 8:6

People are funny the way they believe. In some ways, Christians can be the worst offenders in this area. We give value to things we shouldn't spend any time on at all. I know good people who see evil in all kinds of things, while others impose unnecessary restrictions on themselves to keep themselves "pure.”

What it really boils down to is many believes haven't spent enough time with Jesus to be secured in who He is. They spend their entire lives trying to be good enough to be accepted by Him.

We visited Japan a number of years ago and wound up visiting some Buddhist shrines - on Easter Sunday no less. The grounds of these temples were absolutely beautiful, but it was sad to see all the people so dedicated to these idols all over the place. The point is, I wasn't troubled by my surroundings because I know who I am and Who's I am. The false things in this world won't affect us when the Truth abides in us.
