Don't Take God's Job
But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Matthew 6:33
If you really think about it, we pretty much spend our lives seeking after things. Don't get me wrong here, we need things. We need food, clothing, a house, car, etc., etc. verse 32 makes a very interesting statement, though, God knows we need things. How we get things becomes the issue.
According to this verse we are to seek His righteousness. In other words, God has a right way of acquiring things, which is through Him. Unfortunately, we have assumed the role of provider for our own needs cutting God out of the position He designated for Himself. I am ashamed of the fact that this is something I waited until my senior years to get ahold of. God is so gracious and loving. I have decided that instead of entering my twilight years with regrets, I'm entering the most exciting time of my life seeking His way of doing things!
