God's Potential In Us

Do you look at things according to the outward appearance? 2 Corinthians 10:7a

According to Ephesians 5:27, Jesus is returning for a glorious church, without spot or wrinkle. That is what was spoken, and it will happen.  As far as God is concerned, it's a done deal. As far as we are concerned, we don't see it as a remote possibility. We look around and see this church against that church, pastor against pastor, belief against unbelief, and can't see it happening. And therein is our problem- we need to see it. We look at people the same way. We see people as they are, not all the potential inside of them.

I was having breakfast in a local restaurant a few years ago, and there was a group of Mexicans around a table, eating and enjoying each other's company. I was enjoying watching them when Holy Spirit spoke to me and said, "Do you know how much I love them?" I no longer saw them; I saw all God's potential in them. My focus totally changed as I saw them through the eyes of Love Himself. I started praying for them and seeing them as God saw them. Honestly, that is the way I see people today, for the most part. We are all works in progress, on our way to what God has designed for each one of us to be.
