On Our End
"But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint." Isaiah 40:31
You go into a restaurant expecting a good meal and good service. However, all the wait staff is standing against a wall, and nobody is moving. Their job is to wait, so they are waiting. Needless to say, you don't get your food because everyone is waiting, not serving.
So many Christians are just standing around waiting on God to move on their behalf because they misinterpreted this verse. The thing is, people are waiting on God to do something, and He has already done everything He is ever going to do. God completed everything on behalf of you and me before anything ever started. Jesus went to the cross once for you to pay the price in full for your salvation and wholeness. He's not doing it again.
Instead of asking God to work for us, we need to ask Him what we need to do to procure His promise in our particular situation. If something isn't working, it will always be on our end, not God's.
