As Righteous As Jesus

"For You, O Lord, will bless the righteous. With favor You will surround him as with a shield." Psalm 5:12

There are two truths in this verse that every Christian needs to get ahold of. First, you are righteous. Simply put, you are in right standing with God. It doesn't mean you do everything right; none of us do. It means you are as righteous as Jesus was when He was on earth. Second, you and I have favor everywhere we go. It may not seem like it at times, but that doesn't change the truth of it.

I pull an 18' trailer most of the time in city traffic. Pulling onto a busy street can be a challenge most of the time. I started to believe for the favor of God surrounding me everywhere I go. Every time I pull up to an intersection, traffic parts. This happens every time without fail. I am no more special than anyone else, but I do practice living in the "favor bubble," as I call it. This is so much fun! One time, I pulled up behind a car that had been waiting for a break in the traffic. When I pulled up to him, I said out loud, "You can pull out now; a righteous man is behind you." Sure enough, as soon as I said that, traffic parted, and both he and I got out. This is such a fun way to live! I highly recommend it.
