Be A Light in the Dark

"Don't return evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary, blessing, knowing that you were called to this, that you may inherit a blessing." 1 Peter 3:9

The easiest thing to do is treat people just like they treat you, but that isn't the best thing to do. There are people that honestly deserve my disdain for their behavior. Those are the ones that require more grace on my part. Is the person I encounter just a jerk, or am I meeting a good person on a really bad day?

The best thing to do, according to this verse, is to address people on your level instead of theirs. In all personal interactions, our number one goal is to bring God glory. To be totally honest, there are people that are just plain mean and will never have anything good to say about you or anyone else. Their actions and words have nothing to do with you, it's them. You may be the only person they encounter that knows God. Be the light God calls each of us to be in a dark world.
