Hells Greatest Defeat

"Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it." Colossians 2:15

When Jesus died on the cross, satan thought he had won once and for all. Had Jesus stayed in the grace, God would have lost mankind forever. What satan didn't know was that he fell into God's ultimate plan for the redemption of man. What started out as the grandest victory party turned into the worst defeat hell could ever imagine.

When Jesus had paid the price in full for our salvation, God sent the angels in to secure Jesus’ release. Jesus not only paid for our salvation, but He also stripped satan of all of his power. The principalities and powers mentioned in this verse are the most powerful demonic entities, and our Jesus brought them down to nothing. The only power they have left is the lies they speak. The weakest Christian today has more power than any of them do. Our job is to enforce the victory Jesus won 2000 years ago.
