Time Put to Good Use

"A quick-tempered man acts foolishly...." Proverbs 14:17a

I was parked in a construction zone a few years back and had lots of company to share the experience with. All of a sudden, there was an outburst of anger coming from somewhere out of sight. Some dude was upset that his day got interrupted by some road construction, and he was letting everyone know about it. He was using very colorful language, which seemed to work well for him. Actually, he was just being stupid, and from what I could tell, it was the voice of experience.

People that are easily upset live in the moment, and they don't like being inconvenienced. No one likes stopping for road construction, myself included, but I have learned to look to the reward. I envision how nice it will be to drive on a new highway. I use the waiting time to pray for the success of that company, the safety of all the workers, and that the day would go better than expected. The time waiting in that line of traffic has become time put to good use.
