Getting Rich Quick

"An inheritance gained hastily at the beginning will not be blessed at the end." Proverbs 20:21

Getting wealth suddenly is a recipe for disaster, especially without a good plan in place to handle it. Years ago, a family in our church received an inheritance. They were buying anything and everything and generally spending money left and right. In just a matter of months, the money was all gone, and they were back to square one. They had nothing lasting that came out of it.

There was an Indian tribe in Oregon that decided money was better than land and sold their ancestral lands back to the government. Every man, woman, and child that belonged to that tribe received $1,000,000.00 as compensation. A few of them did use the money to better themselves, but for the most part, within two years, the money was gone.

Verse 18 of this chapter says plans are established by the council. If you find yourself on the receiving end of sudden money, get wise council to ensure it will be there for years to come.
