God's Comfort

"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulations..." 2 Corinthians 1:3&4a

One of the things I made a quality decision about is that I am comfortable. It doesn't matter what is going on around me or to me; I'm comfortable. Admittedly, calling yourself comfortable doesn't necessarily make you comfortable. The answer, however, lies in this verse, God! If God is all comfort, then comfort comes when we are in Him.

When I went through lung surgery, it wasn't a pleasant experience. Recovery was a process, and it was painful. The last thing I wanted to do was exercise and stretch, but those were the two things I needed to do if I was going to regain my strength and mobility. God was my constant source of strength each step of the way.

Today, that part of my life is far behind me, and looking back; I see God's comfort through every phase of the journey. Whatever you may be facing, keep your focus on God, not your circumstances.
