So Heavenly Minded

"Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth." Colossians 3:2

Growing up in church, one phrase I heard repeatedly was, "He's so heavenly minded, he's no earthly good". And no, it wasn't referring to me. I have no idea where a phrase like that even started. One thing I never heard was, "He's so earthly minded, he's no heavenly good". 

Here is the real story, the more like heaven you are, the more you can affect the things on earth. Jesus is the perfect example of this. He was definitely on this earth, and He did normal Earth things. He had a job, He was a member of society, He watched out for His mom, and He employed people. On top of these, He was always willing to help others. But the most important thing He did was show us heaven.

If there was anything He did right (He did EVERYTHING right!), He showed us how to operate using God's principles here on earth. Jesus set His mind on things above, not on things on the earth! I don't know about you, but that is the way I want to live.
