Borrow or Not?

We live in an instant world. Case in point: how many times have you stood in front of a microwave telling it to hurry up? We are constantly bombarded with ads telling us how much we need something right now, and then telling us that 'they' are the ones who can help us get it.

So, let's get down to the nitty-gritty. Is it a sin to owe money? I have heard this taught from both a yes and no viewpoint, which just led me down the path to more confusion. As I have studied the scriptures, I find no evidence that owing money is a deep, dark sin. On the other hand, I see scripture after scripture pointing to the bondage attached to owing money.

Those of you who know me may find all this funny coming from me since I pretty much have spent my life being a career borrower. Some of us take longer than others to see the error of our ways, that's what I have to say!
