Costom-Made Anxiety?
There are situations we find ourselves in that just seem custom-made to produce anxiety. Such is the case whenever I go to Mayo Clinic. As I write this, we are on our way back home from a checkup, which was very good. I expect to have good news, but I still find myself getting a bit of anxiety there.
It is my belief that a spirit of anxiety permeates that building. This is something I have to battle with every time we go there, and I never contend with it anywhere else. Thank God for the peace He gives! His peace is the guard for my spirit and my mind while we are there as I go to my various appointments.
We all face situations that are custom-designed to bring anxiety into our lives. There is an old saying that goes, "You can't stop the birds from flying over you, but you can stop them from building a nest in your hair." Anxious thoughts are going to come, but we have the power through Jesus to refuse delivery!
Wait a minute!! Perhaps I need to do some things. If I were to spend a little more time building myself up in the Word before times like this, just maybe the God in me would be so much bigger than the problems outside of me.
