Diligence
For the longest time (we're talking years), the meaning of this verse completely missed me. All I could think of was this guy was so lazy he wouldn't even cook his meat! Roasting was a form of preservation.
People, at that time would cook meat to store it for later. This guy would kill an animal for one meal and just leave the rest of it. The next day, he would hunt again, and the next day, and the next day, and the next day. You get the picture. He didn't understand diligence at all. In fact, his laziness cost him more work.
Diligence is simply this- finish what you start. See the project through to the end. If you do that, you possess diligence!
