Dont Focus on the Circumstances

We all go through times when our world gets shaken up. The question is, 'What are you going to do about it?' You can get mad, you can be paralyzed with fear, you can ignore it, or you can deal with it. Myself, I choose option 4.

What does it mean in this verse to have a steadfast heart? Quite simply, it means not being moved by bad news. I made up my mind years ago that God's word was the final authority in every area of my life.

I remember the day, sitting in the clinic exam room, being told I had cancer. Talk about a bummer! My day had been going pretty good up to that point. That was the starting point of my return to health. Two decisions I made that first week were to not question God and never take ownership of cancer. I never said 'my cancer.' I would say, 'I'm being treated for cancer.' The way to be steadfast in the Lord is to keep the word in front of you, not the circumstances you are facing.
