In The Midst of a Storm

When I was a boy, I had a picture on my wall of a young man at the helm of a ship in the midst of a storm. The man had a determined look on his face that said everything was going to be alright. Standing behind the young man was Jesus with one hand on his shoulder and the other hand pointing straight ahead, giving the man direction. I haven't thought of that picture in years, but this verse brought that picture to my mind.

There is a progression in this verse. It starts with believing God is with me, And if He's with me, He will guide me. If I am convinced that He is with me, my face is set with a determination that can only come from spending time with God. I put my total trust in His leadership.

That picture I had in my room so many years ago nailed this concept. When the storms of life hit, trust the One who has already made a way through the storm!
