One God

It is hard for our finite minds to comprehend an infinite God who not only will exist forever but always has existed. I don't know why, but it's easier for me to believe in a God that always will be as opposed to One who's always been.

Don't get me wrong, I believe that God always has been. According to this verse, God is the only God who has ever been. He's not part of a long line of successive Gods. He has made it very clear here that He is a solo act.

God doesn't share His position with anyone. There are not multiple ways to eternal life; there is one. There are not several gods; there is one God.
